This Privacy Policy explains how Tamagana handles personal data when you visit the website, create an account, learn with the Service, publish a text, use voice or AI features, contact support, or subscribe to Tamagana Pro.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. Personal data we process

  • Voice, transcript, and audio dataaudio and transcripts when you choose to use speaking, transcription, or listening features.
  • Billing dataour payment provider handles full payment details. Tamagana receives limited subscription and payment-summary information needed to manage access and does not store full card numbers.
  • Usage, device, and diagnostics databasic usage, device, network, and diagnostic information needed to understand feature performance, prevent abuse, and fix errors.

3. Why we use personal data

  • To perform our contract with you: authenticate your account, provide reading, translation, exercise, voice, AI, content, progress, and subscription features, and respond to support requests.
  • For our legitimate interests: secure and operate the Service, prevent abuse, investigate failures, understand feature performance, improve the learning experience, and protect our users and rights, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • With your consent where required, including for microphone access and non-essential analytics or similar technologies. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
  • To comply with legal obligations, including accounting, tax, consumer-protection, fraud-prevention, and lawful authority requests.

4. AI, voice, and automated processing

When you request an AI, translation, or speech feature, the text, prompt, answer, or audio needed to provide it may be processed by specialist service providers. Tamagana does not use these features to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Only submit content you are entitled to use, and avoid including personal, confidential, or sensitive information in prompts, imported texts, or recordings.

5. Service providers and other disclosures

We share only the data reasonably needed for a provider to perform its role. Current provider categories include:

  • Account authentication and user management.
  • Hosting, database, and file storage.
  • Payments and subscription management.
  • Product analytics, security, reliability, and error monitoring.
  • AI, translation, text-to-speech, and speech transcription.
  • Support and service-message delivery.

We may also disclose data when legally required, to protect users or the Service, in connection with a business reorganization or transfer, or when you direct us to make content or a nickname public. We do not sell personal data.

Some providers may process data outside your country or the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

We use cookies or similar storage for authentication, security, session management, analytics, and service reliability. Where required, non-essential technologies are used with your consent. Blocking necessary cookies can prevent account features from working.

7. Public content and leaderboard information

When you choose to publish a text, its title, body, language information, and generated learning materials can be viewed and recommended to other users. A leaderboard nickname, if you set one, and qualifying streak results are public. Do not publish personal or confidential information that you do not want others to see.

8. How long we keep data

We keep personal data while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and prevent fraud. Retention periods vary by the type of data and the reason it is used.

If your account is deleted, private texts associated with it are removed, while texts you deliberately made public may remain available without being linked to your account. Certain records may also be retained where the law requires it or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent. 10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Tamagana is not intended for a child who cannot lawfully consent to use of an online service in their country without authorization from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child provided personal data without the required authorization, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the Service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights or how we use personal data.
